Network Solutions experiences DNS DDoS attack

Millions of websites potentially unreachable

January 23, 2009 - Network Solutions, a leading domain registrar with over 7.6 million domain customers, has experienced a large scale DDoS attack on its name servers, causing delays for customers whose domains are hosted through Network Solutions' Worldnic service. During the attack, which affected the name servers for between 2 and 4 hours, only 48 to 62 percent of legitimate queries were responded to successfully.
