UltraDNS Suffers DNS DDoS Attack
DNS outage affects a number of UltraDNS customers
March 31, 2009 - Attackers launched a distributed denial of service attack against the DNS servers used in NeuStar's UltraDNS managed DNS service, causing service disruptions for a number of UltraDNS customers, according to a NeuStar official. The DNS DDoS attack caused service outages of a few hours.
According to a blog by UltraDNS competitor DynDNS, the outage affected Amazon.com, SalesForce.com, advertising.com and Petco.com.
